According to AARP, on average caregivers spend 24.4 hours a week providing care to their loved one. When asked if they had a choice in taking on the responsibility to provide care for their loved one, half of caregivers self-reported they had no choice in taking on their caregiving responsibilities.
Many caregivers enter their situation unexpectedly, not prepared for the important decisions that must be made, and soon find themselves emotionally blindsided because they are not prepared to handle caring for their loved one on top of their already busy life.
